Durham, NC - I have called Chancellor Moeser to share my great sorrow at the tragedy the UNC community has endured with the loss of Eve Carson. The death of a student is always a grievous loss on a campus. In this case, the loss is particularly senseless and appalling.

Duke's counseling and student affairs staffs are working with their counterparts at Chapel Hill to offer whatever services we can. The hearts of everyone at Duke are with our colleagues at Chapel Hill at this hard time.
