Dressy Top and Jeans Make for a Ball Supporting Women's Health in Africa

Duke to hold first Blue Jean Ball Feb. 16

For those who like to go casually elegant and support a good cause, the first Blue Jean Ball on Feb. 16 will support women's health in East Africa.

The ball will be held at the Durham Hilton on Hillsborough Road. A silent auction begins at 6 p.m. with the ball starting at 8 p.m. Admission to the auction is free, but the ball tickets are $100 each.

The event includes dinner and music by the band Spare Change. Participants are invited to don a dressy top and a favorite pair of blue jeans and dance the night away for a good cause.

Tickets must be purchased in advance. For ticket or more information, call Alice Cooper or Pat Dennos at (919) 660-2370.

To make a direct donation, send a check to Alice Cooper, Department of Ob/Gyn, 3116 N. Duke St., Durham, NC 27704. Make checks payable to: Duke University; Memo: Blue Jean Ball.

All donations are tax deductible, and profits will go to support maternal morbidity and mortality reduction programs. No donated funds will be used for salaries or Duke team expenses.
