Durham, NC - Business executives need continuing education, but they rarely have the time to take the long breaks away from work that a quality education requires. The Executive Education (EE) program at the Fuqua School of Business has a solution.

Using a range of technology from iTunesU to web conferencing to virtual classrooms, Duke EE is one of the leaders at Fuqua and at Duke in using distance learning technology in its programs. Click here to watch a video describe the "multi-modal learning system."

"Fuqua has been a lead in technology-enabled management programs and is a first-mover in innovative global programs," said Nevin Fouts, associate dean for information technology at the Fuqua School.

Fuqua isn't the only Duke program experimenting with distance learning. Others include the School of Nursing, the School of Medicine's Training Program in Clinical Research, the Duke Clinical Research Institute and the Nicholas School. Distance learning also will be an important element in the new Duke medical school in Singapore.
