Students, Employees Can Watch Women's Final Four

Games will be shown at campus sites

The following is a schedule of events for the women's Final Four:

Tuesday, April 4, women's final game:

When the Duke women play in the championship game, a large-screen television will be set up inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. Only Duke undergraduate, graduate and professional students, employees with IDs and season ticket holders will be admitted. The game is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m., and doors will open at 7 p.m.

Television crews are asked not to shine lights while the games are in progress because doing so will disturb people's ability to watch. Lights are permitted before and after the game and when there is a pause in the action.

If the Duke women lose in the semifinals, the final game will not be shown in Cameron.

In the event the Duke women win the national championship, post-game festivities include the possibility of a bonfire in the main West Campus residential quadrangle. TV camera crews and newspaper photographers will not be allowed inside the 10-foot perimeter around the bonfire. Those who try to do so will be asked to leave.

A permit for a bonfire has been obtained. Currently, the Durham Fire Marshal has lifted the no-burn order that has been in place because of dry conditions in the region. However, if dry conditions continue, the no-burn order could be reinstated. The fire marshal will notify the university of the decision as early as possible so information can be communicated to students and the media.

All entrances to West Campus will be closed starting at halftime. Only Duke students, employees with appropriate identification and news media with press badges will be permitted on campus. This is being done for the safety of students and employees.

Wednesday, April 5, women's welcome home:

A celebration welcoming home the women's basketball team is planned for 6 p.m. inside Cameron. The event is open to the public, and parking is available in the lot on Whitford Drive across from the baseball field and along Frank Bassett Drive.
