Editor's Note: Update: Recently the Nasher Museum announced that, for personal reasons, Shaleane Gee will not be able to accept the position of director of development and external relations.

Durham, N.C. - Nasher Museum of Art Director Kimerly Rorschach has made two new hires related to the museum's programming and fund-raising efforts.

Rorschach has named Shaleane Gee as director of development and external relations and Juline Chevalier as the new curator of education.

"I'm very pleased that these two experienced professionals will be joining us as we prepare to launch the new Nasher at Duke," said Rorschach, the Mary D.B.T. and James Semans director. "Both Shaleane and Juline will be centrally involved in the emergence of the museum as a vital new cultural resource for university students and faculty, the Durham community, and visitors from around the world."

Gee will begin her position as director of development and external relations on June 8, leading efforts to complete the museum's $23 million capital campaign, raise funds for its $10 million endowment, increase membership and promote public awareness of the museum. Gee comes to Duke with eight years of experience in development at the University of Chicago.

Chevalier started May 2 as curator of education, developing and overseeing educational programs for families and K-12 schools and training docents. Chevalier comes from the Bruce Museum of Arts and Science in Connecticut, where she was manager of school and tour services and also served as manager of outreach education.
