PANEL BACKS BOEHRINGER DRUG AS TREATMENT FOR RESISTANT HIV Wall Street Journal, May 20 -- Charlie Hicks, an HIV researcher at the Duke Medical Center who helped lead the clinical studies for the drug, tipranavir, said it is the most significant protease inhibitor to come before the FDA in several years.
