Del Ponte Talk Canceled

Human rights panel discussion will continue as planned

The Carla Del Ponte lecture, previously scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled. Del Ponte, prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and for Rwanda, is required to be at the United Nations so cannot travel to Durham. Friday's human rights symposium will take place as scheduled. The discussion, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. April 8 in the Rare Book Room in Perkins Library on Duke's West Campus, will feature Duke literature professor and author Ariel Dorfman, Duke cultural anthropology associate professor Lee Baker, Duke history professor Claudia Koonz, National Public Radio's David Lawrence and Carlos Ivan Degregori, a member of Peru's Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
