Snapshots from Duke's 2011 Pumpkin Fun Run
LIVE FOR LIFE, Duke's employee wellness program, hosted about 150
students, faculty, staff and more as part of its annual Pumpkin Fun Run
Nov. 5. The event raised $538 to support Duke's Pediatric Blood and
Marrow Transplantation program, which provides care and support to
children suffering from cancer, genetic defects or blood disorders.
In
addition to running and walking the 2.9-mile Al Buehler Cross Country
Trail near the Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club, participants enjoyed
dancing, music and a roving magician. Children's activities included an
inflatable slide, pumpkin painting and face painting. All registered
participants received a free pair of orange LIVE FOR LIFE socks.
